Delcy Davis Draper
Delcy Davis Draper, 86, of Roanoke Rapids, died Saturday, March 15, 2014.
Delcy, a native of Northampton County, was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Annie Britton Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Leston Earl Draper; three brothers and two sisters.
She was a graduate in the class of 1945 of Conway High School. She was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ann D. Martin and her husband, Jim, and Gail D. Lane and her husband, Al, all of Roanoke Rapids; her two sons, Fred Draper and his wife, Darlene, of Roanoke Rapids, and Richard Draper and his wife, Mary, of Safety Harbor, Florida; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, and her special dog, Luci.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Dathan Hall and Dr. Julian Mills officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00-8:30 p.n. at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services, and other times at 21 Fairlane Dr., Roanoke Rapids.
